Glee tour dates in planning stages for 2011 :
Attention Gleeks: you may be able to catch all your favorite Glee songs performed live next year. EW has learned that a Glee music tour is in the early discussion stage.

It’s not surprising given that the series’ music has been exploding on iTunes and the first Glee soundtrack drops on Nov. 3. Back in July, Fox Broadcasting president Kevin Reilly hinted at the development to EW. “We’ve had a tremendous amount of enthusiasm from our music partners,” said Reilly. ”Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There’s lots of things that could happen.”

While nothing is 100% confirmed yet, co-creator Ryan Murphy tells EW that the tour would most likely be scheduled around spring 2010, once shooting of the first season has ended.

This tour could also potentially really help the cast members, as they are now set on releasing a soundtrack to the show on November 3.

Fox Broadcasting President Kevin Reilly said, “We’ve had a tremendous amount of enthusiasm from our music partners. Certainly if these kids become stars in their own right, who knows? Live appearances. Albums. There’s a lot of things that could happen.”

Glee Biography and Background Information :
Glee is an American musical comedy television series that airs on Fox. It focuses on a high school show choir, also known as a glee club, set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio.A pilot episode of the show was broadcast after American Idol on May 19, 2009, and the first season began airing on September 9, 2009.

Glee in ConcertThe show was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan, and originally envisioned as a film rather than a TV series. Murphy selects all music featured within the series himself, and intends to maintain a balance between show tunes and chart hits.

The broadcast of the pilot episode averaged 10 million viewers. Critical response was mixed, with The New York Times's Alessandra Stanley highlighting the episode's unoriginality and stereotyped characters, but praising the showmanship and talent of the cast. The Daily News's David Hinckley opined that the show was imperfect and implausible but "potentially heartwarming", while USA Today's Robert Bianco noted casting and tone problems, but commented positively on the show's humour and musical performances. Mary McNamara for the LA Times wrote that the show had a wide audience appeal, calling it: "the first show in a long time that's just plain full-throttle, no-guilty-pleasure-rationalizations-necessary fun".

More about Glee :
Glee is an American musical comedy-drama television series that airs on Fox. It focuses on a high school show choir, also known as a glee club, set within the fictional William McKinley High School in Lima, Ohio. The pilot episode of the show was broadcast on May 19, 2009, and the first season began airing on September 9, 2009.

Glee features 10 major roles who have contributed vocals to the show; Matthew Morrison, Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, Amber Riley, Chris Colfer, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, and Jayma Mays.

Glee MerchandiseThe show was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Ian Brennan. Murphy selects all music featured within the series himself, with the intent of maintaining a balance between show tunes and chart hits. As of 8 November 2009, eleven tracks have been released as singles. There will be a series of soundtracks released through Columbia Records starting with Glee: The Music, Volume 1, which will be released on November 3, 2009, and Glee: The Music, Volume 2, set to be released on December 8, 2009.

The series features covers of numerous songs sung on-screen by the characters. Musical segments typically take the form of performances, as opposed to the characters singing spontaneously, as the intention is for the series to remain reality-based. Murphy is responsible for selecting all of the songs used, and strives to maintain a balance between show tunes and chart hits, as: “I want there to be something for everybody in every episode. That’s a tricky mix, but that’s very important — the balancing of that.” Song choices are integral to script development, with Murphy explaining: “Each episode has a theme at its core. After I write the script, I will choose songs that help to move the story along.”

Glee is choreographed by Zach Woodlee, and features five to eight production numbers per episode. Once music rights are cleared, songs are arranged and pre-recorded by the cast. Woodlee constructs the accompanying dance moves, which are then taught to the cast and filmed. Numbers can take several weeks to prepare, depending on complexity. Each episode costs at least $3 million to produce, and can take up to 10 days to film as a result of the elaborate choreography.
